At Lourenço, we promise you a traditional service but when it comes to cutting hair we're strictly up to date. Our award-winning team are masters of a classic short back and sides as well as something more creative - just tell us how you'd like to look and feel and we'll do the rest! We are skilled in cutting all hair types, whether you have straight, wavy or curly hair! Every cut includes a blow dry, neck shave and can take up to 30 minutes or more depending on the style. Please allow plenty of time to make sure that you get the best hair cut possible as we work with quality not quantity.

Skin fades come in a variety of forms, from low to high and everything in between. At Lourenço, we are experts in this craft. We are meticulous when it comes to perfectly fading your haircut, creating the perfect high-contrast effect from top to bottom.

Our History

Lourenço Barbers opened on Castle Street, High Wycombe in November 2013. From the outset, we aimed to be a traditional gents barbers with an old fashioned quality of service - but with a modern twist.

It's our mission to treat you with good old-fashioned courtesy but also to give you an up to date look so that you leave us walking tall and perfectly groomed. We pride ourselves on our customer service, valuing each client highly and ensuring you leave our salon looking your absolute best.

In terms of psychology, a sharp gents haircut is the apotheosis of elegance, showing high self esteem & feeling like someone that matters. We know this, that's why our services are designed to give you the perfect look every time.

Trichology - The Science of Studying Hair and Scalp Diseases & Disorders

How to Get to Us

By Train:

We are located a short walk from the High Wycombe Railway Station which is on the Chiltern main line served by Chiltern Railways.
You can easily see how to get to High Wycombe Railway Station by doing a search on Google Maps, this will give you the best route options depending on where you are visiting us from.

By Car:

It is best to use navigation software of your choice to get the most accurate directions for your journey to us.
If you are coming from the direction of Oxford or London, you will need to follow the M40 towards High Wycombe. At junction 4 you will need to exit, joining the A404 all the way down to Castle Street.
You will find us on Castle Street next to Pizza Hut, however, you will not be able to park on the street and unfortunately we do not have onsite parking. You will therefore need to park your car on a street or car park nearby.
The car parking options we recommend: Priory Avenue on street car parking (we reccomend this one the most, it is the cheapest and easy access to us!), Wycombe Swan Teatre car park, High Wycombe Railway car park and Easton Street car park.

By Bus:

It is best to use navigation software of your choice to get the most accurate directions for your journey to us.
The two bus stops that stop right outside our premises are Castle Street stop W and V which are served by route numbers: 1, 1A, 1B, 1S, 8, 11, 13, 27, 28, 28A, 39A, 41, X8.

Maria Lourenço

Maria had a calling to be a hairdresser from a young age. As soon as she was old enough, she started volunteering at a local hairdresser to gain valuable trade experience.

After completing a 2-year intensive hairdressing course, she went on to work in two very famous hairdressers in Lisbon and Cascais, Portugal. Once Maria had gained confidence in her abilities, she pursued her own barbering adventures in England, UK.

Here, she crafted a successful mobile hairdressing business before opening her first Barber shop on Castle Street, High Wycombe in 2013.

Since then, Maria has graduated as a Trichologist Consultant (the science of studying, diagnosing and treating hair and scalp diseases and disorders), is an advanced Aesthetic Practitioner (skin specialist) and a phlebotomist with over 30 years’ experience in the hair and beauty industry.

Her specialties include: Barbering, Trichology, Phlebotomy, Injectables for skin and hair rejuvenation, Injectable platelet rich fibrin (i-PRF) and platelet rich plasma treatments (PRP), Anatomy and physiology of the body, skin and hair, Advanced skin core knowledge and treatments (such as facial electrics, radio frequency, medical peels, medical micro-needling, laser hair removal, IPL, micro-current and nutrition), Covid-19 infection prevention and management, and First aid certified (CPR & AED). Maria is also a Vocational achievements Teacher and Trainer fully qualified.

The list goes on. With Maria, there always room for improvement.

Shakir Joseph-Daniel

Shakir began his journey doing an engineering course in college. He progressed on to level 2, where he started fostering a passion for barbering instead.

He began researching barbering videos and getting as much knowledge as he could about the trade. Once his confidence grew, he began cutting his and his brothers' hair and the journey took off from there where more and more of his friends entrusted him to work his magic on their hair.

Shakir wanted to make a mark in the barbering industry by gaining the right qualifications needed to progress, and that’s when he found Lourenço Barbers Apprenticeship Programme. He started training with Maria as his mentor. Following 2 years of extensive training, he is now fully "NVQ Level 2 Barbering" qualified and has been working alongside Maria Lourenço as a qualified barber delivering the highest quality haircuts and beard trims for the past 4 years. He is a very talented professional, applying the work ethic and skills that he was taught by his mentor. His reputation is growing fast, God knows what he is up to next!

Ines Lourenço Filipe

Ines is a BSc Psychology graduate and a Business Administrator apprentice.

She is working on some very exciting projects, contributing great value to our team. Keep your eyes pealed for what we have coming next!

Christopher Odero

Christopher is a BA Hons graduate in Sports Business & Broadcasting from UCFB Wembley.

He is extremely skilled in video production, video editing and content creation. His expertise has added to our team by revolutionising the way in which we communicate our mission to the world. We are very excited to see how our visions are transformed into a reality through his amazing work.
